Arriving by train in Munich brings us to near the mid-point of our travels through Europe, being the 7th City/Country and the first signs of exhaustion have began to show. Between Keira and Dad both getting a cold/flu, and us not knowing we arrived on a public holiday long weekend, Munich didn’t get the best of us.
In the time we had between long sleeps, we managed to head out to Dachau for a reminder of the dark past of this region. Visiting such a place is sombre, and our hopes lie with the message of the memorial there, Never Forget.
For the rest of our time we just explored the city, spent some time thrift shopping, and ensured we tried all the local favourites including weisswurst, schnitzel, pork knuckle, and of course lots of bier!
Next stop, Interlaken, Switzerland, where it looks like we are facing our first adverse weather (three days of rain forecast). Here’s hoping they get that wrong! But the snow did just set in as we departed.
