So over the last few weekends we've been to various birthday parties, dinners and generally kept quite busy. It's been school holidays you see, so the kids have been enjoying a couple of weeks of no homework.
Last Saturday we went over to visit Lewis... While we were there we played in the park for a while...
This weekend (Anzac long weekend) started with a trip to the city on Saturday for a comedy show at the Town Hall.
Strangely they had animals on display (taxidermy) amongst the 'in the jungle' theme.
The kids loved the comedy show, and joined in the drawing classes afterwards... Mum wasn't so keen with the bats!
After the show, we braved the rain and headed to Din Tai Fung for some dumplings... The highlight was some dessert panda's, full of warm chocolate-caramel goodness.
And then on to the QVB for donuts and cake!
Sunday was spent relaxing at home (dad had a lot of uni work to get done).
Monday came around and we thought we'd take advantage of the beautiful autumn weather and head outside. So dad dragged the three girls out for a bush walk.
We started out just behind our house and walked through to Northmead (for a quick lunch at McDonald's of all places) before walking home again... all in all a little over 6.5km! Quite a big walk for the girls.
Our tales and stories, from a not-so adventurous family blending cultures and tastes from across the Timor Sea.

Science & Sand
Yesterday we went for a drive down to Wollongong to visit the Science Centre and Planetarium at the University.
The centre was quite good, with lots of exhibits to play with and learn about science.
We watched an immersive movie inside a large dome about the solar system, and then a COOL science show about Liquid Nitrogen, which was really-cool (no really, its well below freezing!)
The girls were captivated, and a little worried that they might get frozen too!
Here's Claire really enjoying her pie for lunch!
After the Science Centre, we headed over to Austinmer Beach while the weather was still very much summery.
In these photos Claire looks like some sort of sand monster emerging from the beach!
And her mermaid impression! The moss / sea grass she's laying on was so soft, softer than a rug...

School Photos
This year's school photos came home with the girls on Friday... It's a good opportunity each year to look back at how they've changed. It's hard to believe that Claire is already in her 4th year of school at North Rocks, and that was after Preschool at North Rocks, Preschool at Semarang International School, and Preschool at LeapSchoolhouse in Singapore!
We've compiled the photos from 2013 - 2016 in the following!
