Vivid - 2014

This afternoon we headed into Circular Quay and the Rocks to enjoy dinner and the lights of Vivid...

We took the ferry in, so we could get a good view of the lights on the way home... and the kids love the ferry.

Lights, lights and more lights!

Before heading home we went to a Canon display, where they were offering large format prints for free (for vivid photos)... So these were the two quick photos from the girls...

Surf and Selfies

This last week was a week of a lot of selfies.  Early in the week, mum got a new hair do, and to celebrate had our resident photographer (Keira) take a couple of glamour shots.. Here's our beautiful mummy...

A shot with the photographer of choice...

And one of the whole family...

The weekend came around very quickly (especially given that daddy is in Wagga 3 days a week this month)... Saturday was spent at home doing 'boring things' according to the girls...  The one big event which occurred on Saturday was Claire lost her first tooth!

She was so excited she was willing to go to bed early, but then couldn't sleep while she waited for the tooth fairy to arrive.  First thing in the morning, we were awoken to a very excited Keira, squealing with delight that the tooth fairy had taken Claire's tooth (from the bedside table). "Daddy, its true, the tooth fairy does exist" she squealed!

On Sunday the girls chose to head to the beach... Claire was particularly keen to get a swim in before winter really sets in, and so daddy got to spend an hour or so in the beautiful harbour with the girls.

After some time at the beach, we headed to Sushi Samurai for a nice lunch... Some nice photos first up...

Followed by some silly photos...

Happy Mother's Day!

Today it was all about Mummy... Happy Mother's Day!

We started the day with the girls preparing breakfast in bed for our dear mum...together with jumping on her while she opened her presents.

We then dashed out to DFO and Bondi Junction for a quick visit to some shops... before heading to La Perouse for some of our favourite fish and chips!

The forecast was rain & clouds, but it was a beautiful day for an unplanned visit to the beach...

Three lovely ladies...

A rare shot of both parents at the same time...

And another showing a wild animal attack only seconds away!

Selfies with dad...

Princesses in their castle...

We wrapped up the day with a visit from Grandma & Granddad (who had to get their own dinner as we were all full from lunch)...and some yummy mini-pavlova's for the mums (and the rest of us)...

Starting with a bang...

Well, this month definitely got started with a bang.  Claire (whilst running through the school yard), got a little distracted this afternoon, tripping into a brick wall.

Thankfully all she suffered was a rather nasty bump and scratch, but no permanent damage done.

This week has been the first week back at school after school holidays, and as we haven't posted about the school holidays, I suppose now is as good a time as ever.

First week of school holidays was mostly about catching up with friends.  The girls went on play dates, to the movies to see Lego and just generally had a good time...

Good Sunday brought around Oma's arrival for another flying visit...  First step was a nice picnic in the backyard, enjoying pork rolls from Hong Hua in Mascot!

Next on the agenda for the week was a trip out to Taronga...

And a beautiful day to be out and about...

Three lovely ladies...

As we didn't make any plans to go to the Easter Show this year, we took the girls to the Family Show at Moore Park...

Usually the girls don't go on many of the rides, but this time they were a bit more adventurous than normal...

Claire went on this 'Super Sizzler', which even dad thought was quite dizzying... She loved it so much that mum and dad got to take turns going on this over and over again!

Claire chose the winning pig in the local pig races, and got the honour of naming the white pig... She named it 'Big Snorer'... There may have been a hint of inspiration from dad I think!

 Dad & Claire.

Our next main activity (which involved photos at least) was a trip down to Wollongong to the Nan Tien Temple.

Although it was a bit overcast and wet, the girls enjoyed the opportunity to explore, learn a bit more about part of their culture, and take lots of pictures...

The girls climbed up the hill to 'Gratitude', the lone bell on the hilltop, to offer thanks for the life they lead...

Claire rang the bell as loud as she could to send thanks out to the world...

After leaving the temple, we decided to head up to Mount Keira...well for obvious reasons...  Here is Keira enjoying the view from her mountain... Alas it was surrounded by low clouds, but was still worth the drive.

As it was cold and wet, we decided we'd have the picnic in the back of the car!

So the girls sat and ate from the back of the car, while the adults all stood out in the rain!

And that about wrapped up both Oma's trip, and the school holidays!  Back to work and school I suppose!
