This June, we headed north (in the northern summer) to meet with the full Semarang family in Tokyo for a 2 week holiday. The holiday started (and ended) with some flight drama's. On the way there, our flight was significantly delayed, and it looked like we'd have an unscheduled overnight stay in Manila...but the nice lady at the check-in counter arranged for an alternative, direct, business class flight to Tokyo (which has now spoiled the notion of travel for the girls for all time!). On the way back, we weren't so lucky and did get an overnight stay in Manila which wasn't expected!
In Tokyo the key highlights included way too much food, lots of walking, exploring almost every Gatcha machine in Tokyo (as Claire was obsessed with finding the Akabeko toys), a visit to Disney and TeamLab. The girls got to meet some real life Capybara's (who were an obsession at the time, but have since dropped from their daily vocabularly).
Whislt in Japan, we also spent a couple of days in Osaka and Kyoto.

Whilst in town, Claire also decided to go for quite a drastic change to her hair with a full bleach.
