Birthday's and Day of the Dead

This weekend we visited Lewis to celebrate his 2nd Birthday!

 He's growing up so quickly...

After the party, mummy was out with her friends at a movie and dinner night...so daddy and the girls had a movie and dinner night by ourselves...starting with a nice Italian dinner at Castle Hill, and a movie night at home.

This morning when we woke up, we decided we'd head into town to visit the MCA and explore the Rocks again.  We took the ferry in to Circular Quay, and the girls insisted on staying out in the wind...

And daddy insisted they all stood facing the sun for a photo!

The girls wanted a photo of their favourite piece from the MCA... Both Hanna and I disagree with the message, but the kids liked it...

After wondering the MCA, and some time in the kids play area (making our own art), we went upstairs to the Cafe and had a nice lunch.

We then ducked over to the Lowenbrau Keller for some facepainting (and a sneaky beer and bagel) so the kids could get some face painting.

They decided that they wanted to be like their favourite movie, Book of Life, and specifically La Muerte...

The girls got a lot of attention from the crowd in the Rocks, and even a few gasps...

And then there were two...

This has been a big week for our girls, especially for Keira who's started Kindergarten this week.  It's very exciting to see her at school, though it is hard to believe that the time has gone by so quickly!

Keira's been super excited, and can't wait to share her experiences in KD with Miss Deane...

Claire's started Year 2 this year (eeek) and is in 1-2AA and loving it so far.

Visitors

The last week was a bit of an interesting journey. After getting back from our Road Trip on Thursday evening, to discover a rather green pool, we set about trying to recover the pool before our planned pool parties (on Sunday and Monday)...

Alas, the Saturday plans of cleaning got placed partially on hold thanks to a visitor to our garden...

After hours calling various organisations we eneded up enlisting the Wentworthville Fire & Rescue team, who came over to rescue the snake from our pool shed and release it back into its bush home.

We then proceeded to have bbq/pool parties on Sunday and Monday, involving lots of time in the sun and lots of kids in the pool!

This weekend, the girls decided it was time for a visit to the salon.

With good results...

Sunday was spent on the beach at Collaroy, where the girls suffered their first sun-burns... and their first attempt at body boarding.  Surprisingly they both took to the boarding really well, and so we'll be looking to hit the beaches again real soon!
