Merry Christmas 2016

From our family to yours, Merry Christmas!

We started our day with the traditional presents and pancakes for breakfast...  followed by a quick round of photos in the garden...

In the afternoon, Grandma & Grandad, and Auntie Karen, Uncle Brian and Lewis came around for a Christmas lunch... The kids got a new 'sister' from Grandma and Grandad!

The kids had a great time in the pool and garden...

Awards, Concerts & Celebrations

As the year rapidly draws to a close... here are some of the moments that helped make the year's end great...

Keira was awarded the Class Award at the school presentation day.  Her consistent good efforts have really paid off this year!

Claire & Keira both performed in the piano concert organised by their music teacher.  Its great to see (and more importantly hear) their improvement over the last 12 months...

Here are the videos from the performance...

And some of the photos from the day.

And one of Keira cooling off at the end of the day!

And to round off the year... Christmas celebrations with both the North Rocks Crew and the Sefton Crew!

Tasmania | 2016

This past weekend we headed down about as far south as we could manage, to Hobart, Tasmania.

After settling into the little cottage we'd rented for two nights, we headed over to the Botanic Garden for a stroll around before dinner.

On Saturday morning we were out early for breakfast at the Salamanca Markets...  We basically went store to store eating...

We'd been told to go to Mona, so we complied and had a great afternoon.  There was a couple of exhibits that got the girls attention, with the most memorable definitely to poo-machine.

Before leaving Hobart we headed up to the top of Mount Wellington.  The girls suffered the walk in the freezing conditions...the last 15 minutes we were in thick cloud.

The three girls were very happy to be back in the car!

After coming down the mountain we headed out to the Tasman Peninsula.  We toured the coast line and saw some amazing scenes (in the rain and wind)...

The photo below is quite deceiving... the rocks, which look like small river pebbles where actually really big (50cm plus)..

While on the peninsula, we stayed at the Norfolk Bay Convict Station, a 170 year old building which was originally a port serving the Port Arthur Penal Settlement... We stayed in the original Store Room.

On our last day, we visiting the Port Arthur Heritage site, which was amazing.  The kids loved seeing the prisons, the old cells and the colonial houses.

As part of the entry price we had a harbour cruise (which turns out to be one of the deepest harbours and a regular stop for some of the worlds largest cruise ships).  While we were out on the water we were lucky enough to see a large pod of dolphins playing in the water.

We almost forgot to mention that the trip home was also a celebration of Mum's Birthday... so after landing back in Sydney we went out for a quick birthday dinner.

Happy Birthday Mum!!!
