The pancakes (and omelette were huge... and great!)
The after effect!
The plan for the morning was to visit the local zoo, as another animal which Claire was very keen to see was the Polar Bear.
We started with the seal show, which reminded dad of the times when he took the girls to the zoo in Singapore (mum stayed at home for the morning).
We found $20 while wondering around which was a good excuse to celebrate!
Kids looking in a mirror.
We wondered around the zoo for a while, and when we finally got to the polar bears, there was nothing to be seen... Feeling a little disappointed, we were about to leave when this guy came out for a play in the snow/ice...
And then soon after, his friend also came out to say hello!
Which ended up with a very happy Claire! It was fun to watch, as the first bear had dug out a big bit of meat from the ice, and the second bear just wondered straight up and snatched it away... The first bear appeared to be a little upset, called out for a while before going back to his cave very dejected.
The girls are starting to get a little homesick (or travel-tired) at this stage... so were quite happy to play with the water globe and point out where they are from!
Also at the zoo was a tornado machine, where you get to experience some high-speed winds... Here was the result!
After the zoo we took another opportunity to enjoy the US burgers...
And happened to be very close to another well renowned donut store...
We found Dad's Park...
And then went back to the hotel to meet mum and go shopping a little more... Visiting yet another Lego store (not sure if its the kids or dad!)
And then we went back to the Cloud Gate to see what it would be like at night...
Tried some of Chicago's famous Garrets Popcorn...
Note, they selected the "Not to Share" side of the bag!
Happy Claire...
Farewell Chicago...
But before we go... A visit to the Cupcake ATM...just to make sure its as per NYC!
