Singapore | December 2012

And so the time has well and truly come that daddy has failed at blogging... Its now been a very very long time since our last post, and many things have happened since.

So, where did we leave off... ahh yes, December! As we were heading overseas for Christmas, we had an early Christmas in Sydney, celebrating with family before we headed off for our first visit back to Singapore since leaving oh so long ago.

The girls were obviously rather excited about a trip back to Singapore... It is their birthplace...and the place they always knew was home...

As we were visiting Singapore at Christmas time, we found that many friends were out of town... This meant we enjoyed the amazing hospitality of the Clugston's, who allowed us to stay in their home for the trip and enabled us to extend our stay...

First activity of the holiday was a quick catch up with Sienna and Jasmine (and their mum and dad).  Sienna is Claire's oldest friend, having met each other in the very early days (antenatal classes).  As it worked out, the family was flying off to Hong Kong for a holiday, so we only managed a quick (but yummy) breakfast with the girls, before waving them off on their way to Disneyland!

It's hard to believe that its been around 6 years since we met Noel and Dulce in the class (we happened to be the only two couples in the class)... Life does change very quickly!

Next stop was a visit to City Square, where Claire & Keira visited their old school... Although the school was closed for holidays most of the teachers came in for the day to see Claire & Keira.  

The girls loved playing in their old gym, cuddling their teachers, and especially the beautiful gifts they received.  We still believe that it is because we enjoyed such great teachers at Leap Schoolhouse that Claire and Keira now enjoy school so much!

Next on our journey was a catch up with Gasper, Claire's old school mate... who was very pleased to see Claire!   We enjoyed a nice dinner at Hillman Restaurant (Claire's favourite Paper chicken) and then said Goodbye for now to Gasper...

The next day, after a photo on the cute little chair in the Clugston's place...

It was time for a visit to some other friends...and what better place to meet than a playground!

Where we met with Charlotte and Conner, as well as Quentin and Julie, and baby Lucas...  Though we didn't get any photos of the whole group (as the kids were all running about in different directions!)

For the rest of our stay in Singapore, it was time to do the tourist thing (which we hadn't done for a very long time)...and visited some of the sights...  It is amazing how Singapore manages to continue to transform itself and grow...Since we've left, the Circle Line, Marina Bay Gardens, and a whole bunch of office and residential towers have all sprouted up...

We took the girls for numerous rides on the MRT which they have dearly missed..

As well as a trip to the new aquarium at Sentosa!

The girls loved the aquarium... Keira loved the littlest of fish...as you will see in the videos at the end of this post!

 We had a great time in Singapore...we were only back in town for 5 days, but it was long enough to remind us of how great life was there, and also to remind us of all the great things we now have in our new home!

We hope to be able to visit Singapore often...its been such a huge part of our lives!
