Before we kick into the weekend, here's a quick start to the week with our little ballerina's. Claire will be starring in her school play on the 14th and this was a dress rehearsal... Obviously she is the ballerina in the story of Christmas!
This past weekend, mummy took a trip down to Melbourne to meet up with her BFF's Abby and Gin who both happen to be in Melbourne at the same time. Whilst this doesn't seem like a big deal, it was mummy's first trip away from the girls since... well since the girls were born!
So, Saturday morning, nice and early, we took mummy to the airport and watched her head off to the plane...and so the weekend with daddy began!
Saturday was rather busy, daddy needed to drop some furniture to various places, before coming home and getting the girls in bed. The night before we had been up quite late preparing a Christmas cake...
The photos don't really do its size justice, as it was a six layered cake... yummy.
Saturday night was time for Christmas at the Tran's place... Alas Nav, Ashika and Nikhil are moving to Singapore in January, so this may be the last full gathering of the group for a while...
The kids had a great time, and Claire & Keira are starting to see this little group as their good friends... Now to keep it up!
The kids dined on sausage rolls and pies (perfect christmas food if you ask them), whilst the adults enjoyed fresh oysters, prawns and a roast lamb to die for (and for those old-enough, definitely worth skipping out on Tom for).
After a long night it was time to say goodbye to everyone...until next time..
Sunday morning, it was up bright and early to head out to see the Dorothy Christmas show...
The girls were all set to dance, even before we got to the car, as you can see Keira demonstrating here.
Before the show, the girls waited patiently, getting quite excited as the music built up...
The girls absolutely loved the show, and were one of the few who were up on their feet dancing throughout the majority of the show. When it came time to collect roses for Dorothy, Keira got very shy, and Claire explained to me that Dorothy was actually a person in a suit...And that when the person took off the suit at the end, they would eat all the roses themselves!
Sunday afternoon, we headed out for a while, and stopped by at the local park for a quick play (was a little windy hence the quick bit)...
Before coming home to pose for the camera. Here's Keira with her treasure box, which she recieved from the secret santa on Saturday. To say she loves it would be quite an understatement.

At the end of the weekend (after some issues with mummy's flight) the girls were happily in bed and we survived (somewhat) a weekend without mummy around... We'll let her out again in the future...just not too often!
When I arrived at work during the week, I found this somehow appeared on the screen... Cute little trouble-makers!
