After more than 3 years, the Beaver's finally headed back to Singapore for a short Christmas holiday. We headed north immediately after our last day of work, ready to enjoy some warm air, great food and some shopping.
Our first stop on our whirlwind tour was the Singapore Zoo, to give the girls a chance to meet a Capybara, which is apparently the cutest animal on the earth (except Spud obviously). We also happened upon some lazy Panda's.
Given it seems most people we knew in Singapore have either left permanently (or left for the holidays), we spent Christmas eve wondering the town, and ended up being out till very (very) late, and welcomed Christmas at midnight while enjoying some desert!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
While in town we tried to catch up with all our favourite foods, including Mr Bean which the kids made us trek around town to find.
We stayed at the Fairmont so we could shop day and night... there was also a Hello Kitty & Friends cafe downstairs which the kids visited with Astrid.
Satay at Lau Pa Sat...bringing back the old times!
Singapore's famous Michelin Starred Chicken Rice Stall (and it was worth the 20 minute wait!)
And to top off the food journey... Singaporean Chilli Crab & Black Pepper Crab.
Claire insisted on trying KFC in Singapore, so she could see whether Australia had better (or worse) KFC. The verdict - the burger was good, chips and chicken not great. Claire's an expert now she's been working at KFC for a couple of months!
We found some benches.
One of them was a row boat!
And just before ending our trip (while at Jewel@Changi), we got our first family photo for the trip.
