SNOW SNOW SNOW!!!

After leaving Wagga on Friday afternoon, we headed out for a alpine weekend, based from a small lakeside town, Talbingo.  Whilst it was pouring and miserable on the way there, and there was a minor set back with our rental house not being available (long story, but it was all resolved by morning without too much pain), the following morning (after getting bogged in the driveway) ended up being a really great day in the snow!

It started with a beautiful drive through the mountain side.  Whilst a little daunting at time (a lot of ice and snow on the roads) it was beautiful!

Claire had decided to go with Akira in the other car, so Keira and Emika enjoyed the view with us!

When we got to the snow fields, we were welcomed with close to 30cm of fresh, relatively untouched snow, crystal blue skies, and no wind.  Perfect weather for a day in the snow!

It also happened to be Keira's 5th Birthday... Here's mum and the birthday snow princess!

We even managed snow angels (though it was a bit bright looking straight up!

Though the cold did get a bit much at times...

On the Saturday, we spent a lot of time on the toboggans...

And generally just playing around!

 Day 2 and we all had a go at skiing... Claire and Keira did really well, and managed to get the hang of it fairly well... Alas mum and dad completely forget to get photos of the girls skiing, and the small ski's looked so good with the girls!

By the end of each day the kids and parents were exhausted...  On Saturday (being Keira's birthday), we celebrated with yet another cake...this time in true snow fashion!

Happy Birthday Keira...  Not sure how we'll top this type of celebration next year!
