July 2022 | Melbourne & More

July brought around an opportunity for the family to take its first flight (together) since late 2019.  Whilst Dad managed a London/Singapore junket in April, the rest of the family have been eagerly awaiting a visit to the airport!

But...before that, we celebrated Spud's 3rd Birthday, though he devoured his cake before we got a chance to sing (or photograph it), so we have to settle for two cute shots during our preparations.

So our trip was to Melbourne (as Dad was down there for work) and an opportunity to spend 4 days wondering around Melbourne (non-stop eating was more the case), meet with old-friends, and just enjoy some time away from home.

We visited some interesting places, including some ecclectic stores (one featuring a taxidery rat amongst other things) and some cool public art (which Keira seems to "connect" with).

The kids had been craving Happy Lemon since our last Melbourne trip back in 2018, and so we went there on the morning of our first day.  It turns out its lucky we did, as it closed that afternoon - permanently!

Once we were back from Melbourne, we continued the 'active' mode with an afternoon out in the City (the Rocks and Milson Point)... before our regular inertia / laziness kicked in.
