Just before the holidays draw to a close, we packed up the car and headed on our first holiday for what seems like forever! We decided to head north to Coffs Harbour, as we've never made the trek north of the Hunter Valley before.
We were blessed (?) with 4 days of overcast skies and rain...perfect for the beach... at least it kept the beaches from being busy!
On the way, we stopped in at Port Macquarie for a quick lunch and a bit of a walk.
While in Coffs we went for a walk on Muttonbird Island, visited a few local look-outs, spent lots of time on the beach.
We couldn't visit the Coffs Coast without seeing the infamous Banana (and bringing Grandma back some of the frozen Bananas).
We were lucky to join the local carnival and food truck extravaganza down at the showgrounds, and ate about twice as much as we should have.
On our last day, Keira and Dad headed down to the beach nice and early to catch the sunrise.
Before heading home for more food and more beaches!
Since the holiday was without Spud, we agreed that upon getting home, we'd take Spud for his first trip to the beach...so Sunday morning we headed to Curl Curl so Spud could have his day in the sun.
Whilst he loved the water, he did drink a little too much salt-water...and vomited on Claire in the car three times on the way home! Hopefully he'll remember that next time around!
