Rather than trying a big catch up, I'm going to do a summary of what has been happening over the last five or so months!
April/May -- Sydney! All of you who we met, it was great fun coming back home... We didn't realise just how much we missed our life in Sydney until we came back and spent some time with friends... Its funny how much the simple things, like a coffee with a good friend can mean. We're hoping to make it back to Sydney in September (with our little Cookie), but this will all depend on how Hanna pulls up after the experience (due sometime around the 22nd August...so she won't have a lot of recovery time!)
June -- London! Once again, I travelled up to London for a week for a work conference, and had the chance to meet my newest neice, Jessica! She's an adorable little thing, but she squeaks. The umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck for quite some time, and it has softened her layrnx, meaning whenever she takes a breath, she squeaks. Doctor's say it will all rectify itself within 12-18 months.
I also met up with Nav & Ashika, and saw their new London home. I must say, much nicer than some of the places we looked at in London! :) We enjoyed an Afghani dinner together, and then had Steak & Lamb before I came back home. It makes me smile to think the last two times I've met with Nav & Ashika we've been in London! :)
July -- Indonesia! On the spur of the moment, we decided we would head to Semarang for Merry's (Hanna's little sister) engagement party. I spent the weekend in Semarang, followed by a day in our Jakarta office. Hanna's still in Indonesia, and if all goes to plan will be back on Friday! The airline was a bit hesitant to allowing her to fly, being 33 weeks pregnant...but all is well.
Also in July...we've moved house!!! Finally we have more than just a single room! We now have two bedrooms, a lounge, kitchen, laundry, the lot!!!
We've moved to a place called Aston Mansions, in Paya Lebar...near the dodgier end of Singapore, in an infamous area named Geylang. Geylang is famous for its nightlife, and if you wonder along the main road, or past any of the dark pubs, its not hard to see what is driving the life here! Not the best of places, but its a nice apartment, plenty of food around, and WE HAVE MORE THAN ONE ROOM!!!!!
Other than the above, we're just getting ramped up to become parents...we have so much to do, and its all becoming a little scary now, but we're very excited and can't wait to see our little one. She's getting stronger and stronger, and her kicks are now very obvious (little lumps appear on Hanna's belly, visible from across the dining table!!!) We're starting our antenatal classes this weekend which should be fun...I've always wanted to learn how to give birth!
Anyways...I will try and pull together some photos from all the events above and post them in the near future!!!
Hope everyone is well, and will speak soon!!
Alan & Hanna
