Bangkok, Thailand - The Good

So...other than our adventures in the hospital, I guess we had better talk about the good times we had in BKK over our long weekend.

Sunday morning Sheila and Michael joined us at the hospital until I was allowed out in the afternoon. Taking it easy we just went to the local mall (MBK) to do a little shopping before heading back towards the hotel for some dinner. We weren't really up for anything much.

Monday, we spent the day with Sheila and Michael exploring the Grand Place and Wat Pho, with the famed reclining Buddha. We were there on Monday morning, and were impressed by the number of people wearing yellow shirts to show their love and respect for the King. Even the taxi drivers who were doing all they could to rip us off wore "Long Live the King" bracelets in the LiveStrong style.

In the afternoon, after buying a polo shirt with the king's symbol emblazoned upon the chest, we had dinner with a colleague from work, then retiring to a night market which seemed to go on as far as the eye could see.

Tuesday morning, and we finally made it to do some shopping, though we didn't have long before we had lunch with Sheila and Michael, and headed off to the airport to go home to Singapore.

We don't have much to say about our holiday... I think the shock of it all is still hanging over us, and we're looking forward to the weekend to relax and calm down a little...

Hopefully we'll be able to enjoy our next trip to Thailand in September for our anniversary.
